Still catching up...

We talked the Hatches into coming out for Christmas. The Tanners came too, and even Brian and Kathy came for a coupe of days, so we had a house full! We loved it! Katie and Jake came a couple of days before everyone else did and played for hours with the kids. Sadie and Cade wrestled Jake every chance they got.
Kaitlyn had Katie give her a makeover for her birthday. She always loves to dress up for special occasions and her birthday is definitely one of them!
We had the traditional Nativity Play performed by various family members and narrated by Chris. That is always one of my favorite Christmas Eve moments.

We had to move the Christmas tree into the kitchen area for Santa to have room for all the presents for 3 families. Christmas morning was so fun together! But that was just the beginning of the fun. After a few hours of playing with gifts, eating, and resting, it was time for the man challenge!

All the men and Heidi came up with a list of several challenges to complete. Some more challenging than others.
Fastest on the remote to get to ESPN, fastest 24 piece jigsaw puzzler.

Fastest to eat a stack of saltine crackers.
Funniest challenge to watch: walking across the monkey bridge hold a shovel, camp chair and a raw egg. Way harder than they imagined!

All the excitement and playing wore these two besties out. Sadie sure loves her buddy Eastie!

They had scooter races and who-could-eat-the-hottest-wings challenges and then it was off to the lake for the ice plunge into the cold, cold water. Not everyone took part in that one.

Last challenge of the night: drinking a half gallon of milk without puking for 60 minutes. Lucky for all of them, they not only had to do that but then eat our Christmas dinner shortly after. The man challenge winner of the year was (drumroll......) Jake! Heidi wasn't too far behind him.

We made a trip over to Cade's Cove. Didn't see any bears but still had fun exploring and seeing such beautiful country.

Sadie and Heidi made a special bond while she was here. Sadie didn't leave Heidi's side and would constantly give her kisses and tell her that she loved her. Heidi was great about playing with Sadie and making her feel so loved!

It was HARD for Sadie to say goodbye. You can see it in her eyes. It was such a wonderful Christmas together and we hope to do it again someday! "A tender Tennessee Christmas"!
